Red Hat has announced the availability of the beta release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5.7, a new update of the RHEL 5 series: "Today,
we are pleased to announce the availability of the beta version of the
seventh update for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. This beta of RHEL 5.7
contains a number of enhancements for enterprise management,
virtualization performance and data center flexibility. Also included
are updates to the drivers and kernel to support Intel, AMD, POWER and
IBM Mainframe hardware updates. Technical cool stuff: OpenSCAP improves
security operations by verifying security configurations and
vulnerability status across the infrastructure; SSSD for RHEL 5
authentication integration into the enterprise directory services;
